Trail cameras
We are using motion-triggered trail cameras to take photos of the mammals that use recreational trails at our study sites. The cameras are aimed low for the best view of animals ranging in size from rabbits to mountain lions.
The cameras do capture pictures of people using the trails, but usually don't include faces because of the low height of the cameras. We NEVER attempt to identify individuals or use these photos for any enforcement measures. Please do not disturb the cameras if you see them out on the trails.
If you'd like to get involved with checking and maintaining the cameras, please email sdrecwildlife AT gmail.com.
